Just a quick announcement to say that Keepsy is alive, and has been for the past week! We have been too busy implementing new features to announce its alive! Woops… Anyway, it isn’t officially launched yet but if you want a sneeky peek then head over to http://www.keepsy.com/!
So much for our 5 days from idea to launch, it did seem a bit extreme but I am glad we have got something up and available for everyone to try. We are trying to embrace the ‘Getting Real’ approach by releasing early and releasing often. Keepsy is so much smaller than Juvely that we decided rather than having two versions running on the server (production and development), whenever something is committed to the repository it is updated on the live version of Keepsy. This aids in bug fixes as if we need to fix any on the live version of Juvely we need to SSH into the server and run a few commands, where as for Keepsy we just need to commit! I expect we will change this as it grows, but that does mean for now you may experience a few bugs…
Enjoy, and let us know what you think!

Just an update to let you know whats going on in Camp Juvely.
In the next “major” release there is going to be alot of new functionality, heres a quick overview of whats going on.
Suggested replies
This is a feature that I am quite fond of, it has two main purposes, firstly is what is suggests, it will search through the ticket message and suggest replies based on what content it finds, secondly, you’ll be able to add custom replies via the Manage section, so if you are constantly getting asked the same questions, your replies will be a click away.
Attach existing files
This is a great feature which will allow you to either, attach files that have already been uploaded before (saving you from uploading the same files over again) this will save on your disk space usage alot and it will also allow you to pre-upload files via the manage panel which will always be available to attach on all of your replies.
Live chat
You can expect the normal features of any Live Chat application but we feel that we have really speeded up the work flow by the way we have designed the UI’s, once you are on the chat page itself you’ll be able to search for files, transcripts etc and chat all at the same time. Eventually a couple of types of widgets will be included, firstly the standard “Click here for live chat” pop-up style, then an integrated chat, so customers do not have to navigate away from the page they are viewing on your site to talk to you, we have a couple of other ideas up our sleeves but nothing we want to report yet.
The application
Most other helpdesk services either offer a fully loaded super-duper-mega application or non at all. We wanted to keep it simple. The application is going to act as a Notifier which will do basic things such as notify you of activity and will be used for Live Chat so that you don’t always have to have the browser open to be able to talk to clients. It is also going to use an open API, so if you don’t like our app you can go ahead and write your own!
The user interface
Although the look ad feel of the app will generally be the same, we feel that we needed to make the app look more polished, the older UI’s were a bit of a rush job.
Here are a few “in-development” screenshot’s of the new UI’s. Would love to hear what you think!

Well unfortunately I have some bad news, and even worse it is a bit of a cliché. Although we said we would be launching the beta tomorrow, unfortunately we will not. But fear not! We are going to be launching it in a couple of days (when we are ready - it won’t be long so don’t worry). Anyway, here is our plan for the beta launch.
Pre launch stuff
- Finish off the first version of Juvely
- Spend at least 5 minutes testing
- Set up a production version on server
- Finish off marketing site & sign up page
- Set up a bug tracking system
Phase One - Bask in the glow (Within the next few days)
- Let people sign up to the beta
- Let people report the many millions of bugs I expect you will find (although we are calling this a beta, Juvely probably isn’t quite that far progressed)
Phase Two - Communication for the masses (By the end of next week)
- Fix any bugs with the bug reporting system
- Start fixing bugs in Juvely
- Setup a better communication system from a bug tracker - most likely forums
- Add direct links to bug reporting and better communication system into Juvely (temporary while in beta)
Phase Three - Instruct ‘em how (Hopefully started by the end of next week)
- Set up a documentation system
- Provide links within Juvely that will take you to documentation for the page you are on
We also planned on having the marketing site and signup page up by the time I posted this, but unfortunately it seems ol’ Jimmy boy is entertaining some floozy (disclaimer - I’m sure she is a lovely lass). As such I am not sure whether he has finished that lot yet. Tut tut. Anyway, you know who to blame.
Right then, so keep an eye open to see what is happening. If you are not all for modern technology and are not using one of those RSS reader things if you want to know when we launch the beta you can also sign up to be notified by email on our holding page!
